Melpo Dimopoulou (Alumnus 2016, her thesis entitled “MRI Magnetic Resonance Imaging Techniques” under the supervision of Associate Professor M. Psarakis) who received a MSc in Computational Biology and Biomedicine in 2016 and from 2017 is a doctoral candidate at Université Côte d’Azur / I3S / CNRS with a PhD thesis “DNA coding for long-term digital data storage” under the supervision of Dr. Marc Antonini, won the first prize in the “Ma thèse en 180 secondes” competition (http://univ-cotedazur.fr/events/mt180#.XILe7rh7lPY).
This is a competition in which the candidates are invited to convince and attract the interest of the audience and the committee within 3 minutes, describing the subject of their doctoral dissertation! After qualifying, he/she is going to represent Université Côte d’Azur in the semifinal of France to be held in Paris where the 16 best will qualify to compete in the final of French.
