Distinction of the Research Team of the Signal & Telecommunication Processing Working Group

The research team consisting of:

Nikolaos Poulopoulos (YD)
Emmanouil Psaraki (faculty member) and
Dimitrios Kosmopoulos (faculty member on the move to the Department)

won the Best Publishing Award (sponsored by NVIDIA) at Workshop GAZE 2021: Gaze Estimation and Prediction in the Wild, as part of the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) conference, with the paper “PupilTAN: A Few-Shot Adversarial Pupil Localizer”.

The publication proposes the solution of the problem of pupil detection with a methodology of unsupervised training of a neural network of deep architecture, in a competitive way in reference data. The proposed methodology significantly improves the detection rate and accuracy of pupil detection.
